AVR Simulator Challenge
In partnership with our friends at DroneBlocks, we are pleased to introduce the AVR Simulator! For 2026, DroneBlocks is offering introductory access to the new AVR Simulator for all AVR teams.
The 2026 Simulator Challenge will begin on June 1st and will remain open until July 1st. The top three scores on the Simulator Challenge leaderboard will win one additional qualifier registration for the 2026 AVR Season (a $500.00 value)!
Why Sim?
Success in AVR largely depends on two factors: engineering and coding skills. Using a simulator is the best way to test code in a non-destructive environment. This also lets you experiment with ideas and learn new techniques to develop more elegant solutions for autonomous flight and for the interaction between driver control and your aircraft. In the UAS industry, simulators are an invaluable tool for software development and product verification. We know that using the AVR simulator will put your team in a better position to succeed with the real-life challenges you will face once the season begins.
